Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ArchiStructura is a web-based structural engineering toolkit operated by ArchiStructura Engineering ("ArchiStructura", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about anything in this policy, or about your personal data, through the Contact page on this website.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your name, email address and password. Passwords are never stored in readable form; they are held as salted hashes by our authentication provider.
• Sign-in with Google — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use these only to create your account and sign you in. We never receive your Google password and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google content.
• Content you create — the projects, element databases, notes, construction timelines, calculations and reports you save in the app.
• Files you upload — such as IFC models or images. Uploaded files are stored privately, are not publicly listed, and are served only through short-lived signed links.
• Payment information — subscriptions and one-off purchases are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive a customer reference, the subscription status and the last four digits of the card so we can show your billing state in the app.
• Usage information — which pages and tools are opened, the approximate device, browser and operating system, an IP address and timestamps. This is used in aggregate to understand which tools are used and to keep the service secure.
• Cookies and local storage — a session credential that keeps you signed in, and small preference values such as your light or dark theme choice.

We do not buy personal data from third parties, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad networks.

3. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To run the calculations you ask for, save your projects and notes, and show your report history.
• To process payments, manage subscriptions and send you service messages such as email verification, payment receipts and renewal reminders.
• To provide support when you contact us.
• To protect the service and its users — for example preventing abuse, protecting student licences from being shared between people, and enforcing our device limits.
• To understand which tools are used so we can improve the toolkit, using aggregated usage statistics.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your information on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the service and your subscription); our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and improving the toolkit); your consent (where you have given it, for example by signing in with Google); and compliance with legal obligations (such as retaining accounting records).

5. Google user data

When you sign in with Google we receive only your basic profile information — name, email address and profile picture — through Google's OpenID Connect scopes. ArchiStructura's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we use Google user data only to authenticate you and create your account; we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes, and we do not transfer it to third parties except where necessary to provide the sign-in feature you requested or where required by law. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

6. Sharing your information

We share personal information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as much as they need:

• Our application hosting and authentication platform, which stores your account and app data.
• Our file-storage provider, which holds uploaded models and images privately.
• Stripe, our payment processor, which handles card payments and subscriptions.
• Our email delivery provider, which sends verification, receipt and reminder emails.
• A file-conversion service used when you export a construction schedule to Microsoft Project format.
• Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of ArchiStructura, our users or the public. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

7. Data retention

We keep your account information and the content you create for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account from your Profile page, your personal information and associated content are removed from the active service. A small amount of information may be retained for longer where the law requires it — for example payment and tax records — and aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics may be kept indefinitely.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, private file storage with time-limited access links, hashed passwords, hashed API tokens and access controls that limit each record to its owner. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to keep the data we hold safe and to limit what any single compromise could expose.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a portable copy, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have previously given. You can delete your account and its data yourself from your Profile page, and you can contact us for anything else through the Contact page. If you believe we have handled your information unlawfully, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than yours. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses, to keep it protected.

11. Children

ArchiStructura is intended for university students, engineers and other adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The student (Edu) tier is available only to people who can confirm a university email address.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will make that clear in the app or by email before it takes effect.
